Improving Your Quality of Life

servicesOur mission at Prairie Spine and Pain Institute is to empower our patients to manage chronic pain in a manner that will make a positive difference in the quality of their lives. Our goal is to improve your function and reduce your pain as we treat each patient with a combination of medical, nutritional, physical, and behavioral therapies. As a combined effort, we create an atmosphere that encourages the patient to participate actively in important decisions about the treatment and management of his or her chronic pain.

We have assembled high-quality healthcare professionals who believe in the team approach. Treatment at the Prairie Spine and Pain Institute is based on a multi-disciplinary system; therefore, the staff physicians are trained in pain management and rehabilitation. They listen and understand the individual concerns of every patient they treat, and they work with each patient to develop a pain treatment and management plan that addresses these concerns.

Communication throughout your pain management program is vital. If we didn’t communicate with you, you wouldn’t know what your condition was, what we were doing to treat it, and why. If you didn’t communicate with us, we wouldn’t know all of your symptoms, your pain levels, your comfort level, or any of your concerns.

A clear, comprehensive assessment paves the road for your pain management journey

Assessment is the first and possibly the most important step of your journey. An assessment is done to determine what might be causing your chronic pain. It could be the result of a condition or syndrome, or a combination of conditions. Because a clear, comprehensive assessment paves the road for your pain management journey, it is essential that we obtain an accurate diagnosis.

Our multidisciplinary journey continues with therapies and treatments. The treatment plan developed by the team will be specially tailored to your condition and degree of pain, your needs and your personal objectives. This may include the following therapies:

  • Behavioral
  • Rehabilitative
  • Interventional
  • Alternative and Complementary

Your progress will be carefully monitored by our integrated team of specialists throughout the course of your treatment. Personal measurement goals will be set up at the outset of your treatment. An example of a personal measurement goal for a patient with lower back pain is to improve their overall functionality and mobility Goal attainment will be measured at regular intervals by your Pain Care treatment team.
