Dr. Kube discusses possibility of stem cell use in Becker’s Spine Review in a feature titled, “Ask Spine Surgeons.” It is a weekly series of questions posed to spine surgeons around the country about clinical, business and policy issues affecting spine care. Dr. Kube was asked what he thinks is the most exciting technology for the future.
Here is his response:
We are interested in the potential for stem cells to change the natural course of degenerative disc disease. We have been looking at adult mesenchymal stem cells as well as amniotic tissue for use. Both are demonstrating some early positive results, and if long term results are successful, this could be a real game changer.
