These therapies reduce anxiety and stress, and may reduce symptoms of depression. They also help promote self-confidence and personal well-being. Like other forms of relaxation, these therapies help reduce pain by relieving muscle tension and slowing breathing.

NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE
This form of medicine integrates natural therapies, including acupuncture, manipulative therapy, herbal medicines and nutritional therapies, with modern diagnostic sciences and standards of care. Instead of using traditional medications or surgery to treat illness, naturopathic doctors rely on methods aimed at strengthening the body’s natural healing ability.
To become certified, naturopathic physicians go through four years of medical training; however, their training is considerably different from that of traditional medical doctors.
